I have managed numerous construction projects and this project was one of the easiest to manage primarily because Winspear Construction crew and company management. Winspear excelled at communication and quality of work. The project was under deadline due to a historic snowfall and an unexpected rapid river rise. Winspear Construction worked with us to complete the major part of the work prior to the river rise. The project was completed in time and was well received by Ada County and Boise City engineers, as well as the public when the greenbelt path was finally open after a two-year closure.
Winspear Construction used their own Project Manager to interface with myself and my financial officer. This facilitated quick responses to questions and issues that arose during the project. While we were the land owners, this project overlapped oversight by Corps of Engineers, Idaho Department of Water Resources, Ada County, City of Boise and Garden City. With Winspear Construction's constant updates, we were able to keep all of these entities as well as the public completely informed during the entire project.

“Due to the need for a quality concrete contractor with a reputation for safety and quality, Winspear Construction was contracted by Layton Construction to place all site concrete for St. Luke’s new Downtown Boise parking garage, CUP building as well as the new Shipping and Receiving Building. The work consisted of curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks and bikeways, glycol heated concrete flatwork, concrete paving, and structural retaining walls, steps, and ADA ramps. Due to the number of subcontractors on site, and the confinement of the project, it took a high level of scheduling and coordination with not only Layton and St. Luke’s staff, but several onsite subcontractors.”
